Founded in 2006 by Erin Shields and Gideon Arthurs, Groundwater Productions sees performance as an act of collaboration – between artists, art forms, and spectators. Through poetic language, innovative use of space and multi-disciplinary collaboration, Groundwater re-examines archetypal images and characters to tell age old stories with a fresh voice. Whether through the production of politically and socially imperative works by international playwrights, the adaptation of archtypal stories or the creation of new work, Groundwater Productions seeks to engage its audiences in a vibrant, visceral and necessary experience.
