Deviant Productions is dedicated to supporting and collaborating with queer artists and producing theatrical works that explore and challenge normative views of gender and sexuality from a feminist or queer perspective.
Deviant Productions is dedicated to questioning and challenging societal views of gender and sexuality through a feminist and queer lens, tackling modes of oppression such as sexism, heterosexism, homophobia and transphobia.
Deviant Productions theatre company was started by Evan Vipond. The company debuted at Tarragon’s Theatre Festival in March 2009 with the production, “Always Wear a Rubber.” The production was invited to be part of Toronto’s Fringe Festival in July 2009. In March 2012, after further development, Always Wear A Rubber was mounted by the Resident Company and playwright-in-residence, Evan Vipond.
