THEATRICALLY, we believe that new textual forms, ranging from email to blog posts to instant and text messages, present an underused source of material for artistic creation. Together with “everyday” conversation, we want to transform digital language into theatrical language!
THEMATICALLY, Kith as Kin examines both the positive and negative impact Information Technology has had on our interpersonal skills. It is our goal to provide a platform to discuss the effect of IT, both its triumphs and failures on the road towards progress in our communities. Sharing a cup of coffee (or tea) is a great way to do this as it forces us to sit for a while and slow down in a world where the consumption of things and the quest to finance those things has often imposed a rushing frenzy upon us. Unfortunately, the droves of coffee chains marketed as new-age “salons” have not, for the most part, contributed to impactful discussions on society, culture, technology, and art. Though we have the world at our fingertips today, quite literally, there are still some important conversations that must be had. Here is a fresh attempt!
