Synopsis
Inspired by real stories from Syrian migrants and folklore, Amanah is an original tale of immigration and cultural displacement. Created by drama and music students ages 15 to 18 and inspired by stories and first-hand accounts of the Syrian refugee crisis, Amanah tells the story of a family’s arduous journey from war-torn homeland to the intimidating sanctuary of an adopted country. Intermingling fantasy, fairy-tale and fact, the play serves as testament to humanity’s need for acceptance, community, and dutiful reverence of legacy. (summerworks.ca)
