Synopsis
A dim-witted, bright-eyed pupil arrives to meet her mild-mannered, scatterbrained professor. Their lesson begins with great promise, but as the pupil’s performance deteriorates and the professor’s frustration grows, the lesson quickly devolves – with dire consequences for both. Both comic and violent, Ionesco’s absurdist classic challenges our conventional assumptions about education, communication and, ultimately, knowledge itself. (fringetoronto.ca)
