Synopsis
Beckett Warm? Few theatregoers would describe Samuel Beckett thus, but The Old Tune might give them pause. Beckett’s translation of the French play, La Manivelle by Robert Pinget, has all the signatures of a Beckett piece — brilliant use of language, brevity, and humour, but nothing of the “bleak” landscape we usually associate with this 20th century titan.
