Crate Productions is a critically-acclaimed theatre company that produced three plays between 2004 and 2007 in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2003 by Chris Reynolds and Kate Meehan, the company created site-specific work, using confined spaces and non-traditional theatre venues. The intimate nature of the three performances was developed with an acute awareness of their locations: Tape (2004) was presented in a hotel room at the Gladstone Hotel, Blackbird (2005) in an abandoned squat, and The Fort at York (2007) in a historic military fort. Crate has been nominated for two Dora Mavor Moore Awards.
