Redhanded Film and Theatre
REDHANDED film and theatre (formed in 2002 by Rosanna Saracino and Melanie Windle) is committed to crafting and developing original contemporary work, fostering collaborations with new and established artists, and forging new approaches to theatre and film writing, creation and production. We are strongly motivated by trends in both the International and Canadian arts communities.
REDHANDED was established and developed by Windle and Saracino, from a desire to expand existing ideas of which stories needed to be told, and how theatre and film can be made viable in Canada.
Our mandate is to produce challenging examinations of the human experience through a physically charged set of characters, texts and stories. The result is an innovative body of work that borrows from classical story telling and scenarios in order to re-conceive the importance and impact in the modern age. Issues dealt with in our work range from themes of identity, homelessness, violence, social structures, sanity, sexuality, and love.
