Synopsis

Three misfits meet high above the ground in a building that keeps growing floors. Caught in an isolating world, they have wild interior lives. The mayor’s daughter has one pair of pants that makes her the subject of obsession. She handles the dangers of an assassin and the fragility of a home-schooled boy as they negotiate a fundamental imperative: we long to touch. Try to avoid malfunction. Listen to the radio. Nearby: the slush machine of the 7-Eleven. These are our times: destructive weather, unruly humans, and wild animals. What do you expect from a city that can’t even put out its own fires, and lets coyotes and assassins and boys in hot dog hats run free? Inspired by days and nights lived in an Edmonton high-rise, this dark comedy is an emergency call made by those searching for identity, connection, and a sense of home. (summerworks.ca)
