Synopsis
Love’s Labours Lost is one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies. The King of Navarre and his three closest friends have sworn to devote themselves to academic study for a few years, in aid of which they’ve banished all women from their court as potential distractions. When a visiting princess and her three beautiful handmaids show up, everyone falls in love at first sight and all of the King’s plans disintegrate hilariously as the boys and girls play cat-and-mouse.
Dauntless City Theatre will present a fast-paced and accessible Love’s Labours Lost with an emphasis on big fun physical performance and innovative use of the performance space. Berczy Park will be transformed into the Court at Navarre, and the audience will be led around by a cast of fourteen in a colourful and romantic adventure that is unique to Berczy Park and Old Town Toronto.
