Synopsis
Arnolphe, after a ten day voyage, returns home and decides to wed his pupil Agnès. Very afraid of being cuckolded, he has taken much care to raise her away from the torments of her age. He has therefore placed her in a convent and forbidden her to be taught things of the mind. Agnès seems therefore in innocent in every way. Everything could take place as planned but that would be underestimating the mind of Molière. It’s not so easy to make someone love you and women aren’t as innocent as they could lead you to believe.
