Sophiensæle in Berlin

The Sophiensæle are one of the main production and venues for independent theater in Germany. Artists from Berlin, and from the national and international scene will be invited due to their artistic concepts, issues and approaches to work, to produce their work here and present.
The Sophiensæle are a home for artists and audiences in which the encounter between the two groups is the focus. The changing history of the building and its original purpose as assembly, training and fixed location is in the building’s architecture, on the walls and ceilings of the rooms still noticeable and creates a unique setting for artistic production and encounter.
