Bad Dress Productions
Established
2010
Bad Dress Productions was founded in Montreal in 2010 by Artistic Director Jessica Kostuck, to provide opportunities to emerging young artists, and create theatre that is entertaining and accessible to all audiences. Shortly after relocating to Toronto, David Poon joined the Board as Executive Director.
Our inaugural production was an original musical by Tabia Lau and Mary Lougheed based on a concept by Jessica Kostuck called “21 Days” which premiered at the 2012 Toronto Fringe Festival. It went on to win a Patron’s Pick Award.
In 2013, Bad Dress Productions staged Caryl Churchill’s apocalyptic drama “Far Away” at Dancemakers in the historic Distillery District.
Bad Dress Productions returns to the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2014 with a new original musical, #WeddingMusical (“Hashtag Wedding Musical”). Written by BDP veteran, Tabia Lau, Bad Dress is proud to welcome lyricist and composer Greg Mcleod to the team. (baddressproductions.com, 2014)
