Theatre Free Radical is a Fredericton, New Brunswick-based company whose mandate is the production of artistically, politically, and intellectually challenging new works. In recent years, Theatre Free Radical has gained a following in Atlantic Canada and beyond for plays that utilize a multimedia performance style (frequently incorporating slide projections, dance, and live music) in the staging of witty, thoughtful scripts that offer dramatically powerful and darkly comic responses to important current events—from the effects of globalization on post-Communist Eastern Europe (Free/Fall) to the war in Iraq (Doppelgänger) to global warming (Futures) to the social consequences of urban blight in decaying inner cities (Happy City).
