Synopsis
A small town in Quebec secedes from Canada and the Commonwealth and create their own utopia, “Tanganyika”. Ideals slowly descend into chaos as it becomes the focal point of an attempted revolution amidst unconscious forces and helpless accomplices of the ‘demonic’ forces that take possession of the town. The ‘demons’ / ‘possession’ is an allegory of the potentially catastrophic consequences of the political and moral nihilism. I.e., our society today. ‘Lord of the Flies’ meets Ionesco in this piece inspired by “Demons” by Dostoevsky & “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. (juicystuff.ca)
