Synopsis
i carry your heart with me is a play about my beloved mom, Cecile Martin, who died of breast cancer in 1980 when she was 36 years old, I was 12.
The centrepiece of the play is a recording of a speech she gave to oncologists at the when she was receiving chemotherapy treatments.
Interwoven is my story of grief and loss, living with a mother-sized hole in my heart, ultimately learning to let go, find peace, acceptance and joy at getting to know her all over again as an adult. (fringetoronto.com)
