Synopsis

1993, Anna, a Brooklyn woman agrees to marry Sergei, an illegal Russian immigrant so he can get his green card. She hasn’t had anyone to talk to in a long time. He doesn’t speak a word of English.
In a city where every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way, Anna discovers that even a simple marriage is as complicated and sad as an epic Russian novel. (Toronto Fringe Program, 2014).
