Synopsis
THIS WIDE NIGHT is a funny, gutsy, poignant drama about the edgy relationship between two women, former cellmates, both newly released from prison and trying to cope with the uncertain freedom of life on the outside. Part of an exciting new wave of female play writing from the UK, it offers a dynamic take on this particular experience. This award winning play is one of the few works exploring this material from a female point of view – since Marsha Norman’s “Getting Out” in the 1980’s – and it offers an honest, raw take on post-prison life. Chloe Moss wrote this gritty, authentic piece while doing a workshop with female prisoners in the U.K. through the Clean Break program. (kickstarter.com)
