Synopsis
Transit is a play that explores the cultural transformation of familiar public spaces and how some of us engage with and adapt to these places we consider to be ours. For the central character, Frank, these seismic shifts provoke a range of bad reactions, including racial intolerance and corrosive nostalgia. Audiences will feel caught between laughter and unsettling introspection. Frank’s struggles should resonate and reflect our shared fears around change and difference. Transit is a show that attempts to create community connections and build cultural bridges by asking questions like, “Who am I?” and “Who are we together?” (fringetoronto.com)
