Synopsis
The play explores the early occupation of First Nations land by European settlers through the stories of Gibson, who suffers a crisis of conscience when he learns that his work as a surveyor is being conducted on stolen land, and Kahkewaquonaby, who re-invents himself as a “white” missionary named Peter Jones, transforming himself into a messianic leader of his people in the process.
