Aperture: who framed your imagination? This show is a collective challenge that puts personal politics under the lens. Join the ensemble of the AMY Project as they ask questions and make discoveries about the way women let ourselves – and don’t let ourselves – imagine. What moments and events in our lives shape our imagination, and what moments cause our relationship in our imagination to shift? How does our ability to imagine relate to how we perceive ourselves, society, and our place in society?

Witness a reflection on gender-based themes – body image, beauty standards, sexual orientation, and family structures –that explodes into a confrontation of how we talk about the themes – usually characterized by uncertainty, questions and (distinctly ‘female’) politeness. As they grapple through these subjects, the ensemble seizes the camera, opens the aperture, and re-frames the conversation. (summerworks.ca)
